Are updates always free?

Since it's first released in 2007 new sales have funded development costs for RemoteZilla updates so we have never had to charge for them.

Minor updates (2.0 to 2.1 to 2.2 etc) are guaranteed to be free but major updates (2.0 to 3.0 to 4.0 etc) are not guaranteed to be free for everyone. However, there are ways to ensure you will not have to pay for your updates.

Besides new sales we also have a policy to help promote new sales so we don't have to charge for future updates. If you have maintained a link to the RemoteZilla (or DualDesk) website on your site for at least 6 months (or since your purchase date) prior to a major release or if you refer someone who buys RemoteZilla (or DualDesk) your updates will be free even if we have to charge for updates in the future.
